Teacher

Craig is a full-time member of the music faculty of the Northfield Mount Hermon School, an independent boarding school founded by D.L. Moody in 1879. He teaches two levels of Musicianship, Arts Foundation, and serves as accompanist for the choral, instrumental, and music theater programs.

Accompanist

As accompanist for the Concert Choir and two chamber choirs, he spends hours each week rehearsing choral literature ranging from Palestrina and Brahms, to folk music from around the world, to modern works by Forrest, Szymko, Whitacre, and Gjeilo. His almost daily involvement in the process, craft, and repertoire of choral singing continually informs and shapes his own creative choices.

As accompanist for student recitals and musicals, he performs music from Bach to Sondheim, and is comfortable across time periods and genres, whether on stage or in the orchestra pit. Sandford serves as an organist, too, performing on the Andover tracker organ in the school chapel.
